Autumn in the Mountains

It just occurred to me that I never posted photos from our trip to the mountains two weeks ago! Doh!! We were about 7-10 days early for peak color, but since most of you that read this little blog aren't from the area, my "early" is still better than anything you've got going on! (hahahah -- suckers! Payback for that little commnet: I think I just pulled a muscle in my tummy trying to get up off the sofa to watch the pre-Broncos game fighter jet flyover...)For anyone familiar with the area, this is snapped from the City Market parking lot in Dillon. Every single pine tree on Buffalo Mountain and beyond is brown-dead from the beetle blight -- it's really a sight to behold! Summit County is completely devastated; one bad lightning strike and very, very bad things are going to happen...
