Shae and I (and Jody, to a certain degree) spent the last week of December on a stay-cation, home from work and daycare. We tried to do "one fun thing" every day of our vacation!
Go Badgers!
On Christmas Eve we went to Gramma and Baba's house for dinner and presents. Shae wore the dress that Gramma made especially for her.
Zoey was not entirely keen on Shae's decision to involve her in the gift opening portion of the evening.
We were so happy to have Uncle John with us for Christmas!
Always the goofus.
Nothing says "Christmas" like glow sticks!
Turns out Santa DOES know where our house is! Christmas morning was delightful. (Shae slept in her piggie tails but took them out before coming downstairs. Her hair cracks me up.)
Santa knew that Shae asked him for a "rabbit" for Christmas! (His interpretation of what a "rabbit" meant was subjective, though -- instead of a live critter, he delivered Max & Ruby dolls and a Max & Ruby book.)
Shae shows Dad the ornament that she made at school.
So many presents, so little time.
MORE DORA GEAR?! YAY!!
Zoey is pleased as punch at her gift.
...and we haven't stopped playing it since... :-)
Shae really thinks her new bathrobe and slippers are something special.
Seriously: Zoey did not get up off her pillow all day! That's a dog bone wrapped up next to her -- she couldn't have cared less about it.
Another opportunity to open presents at Uncle Craig's house on Christmas day afternoon. (Shae is totally convinced that Christmas is a week-long activity, much like Hannukah.)
Sittin' with all the big kids on the sofa.
Thanks for the super awesome, super loud guitar Aunt Cindy. :-|
The day after Christmas we went to the zoo. The dude-lions were walking around right on the other side of the glass. Shae was a **little** unsure of their proximity at first, but then thought it was VERY COOL.
Lovely day for a walk.
Time to ride the carousel!
Posing on the oxen wagon.
Perfect follow-up to the zoo is a burger at the Cherry Cricket. Seriously: it's perfect.
More Christmas presents! Aunt Peg, Uncle Mike and Maggie's gifts arrived just a wee bit late thanks to a pretty big snowstorm right before Christmas. But Shae sure didn't care -- that just means more opportunity to rip open wrapping paper.
...and yet even more presents! (It really is obscene.) After the Minnesota Wrabetz family returned from... well... Minnesota, we had our Wrabetz family Christmas.
Gettin' upside down with crazy Uncle Brian.
