Tumbling and leaves and Broncos, oh my!

In an effort to channel Shae's ever-growing volume of energy, we signed up for a tumbling class on Saturday mornings for the next 6 weeks. If you're not familiar with the term, "tumbling" is essentially pre-gymnastics for the wee set. Or, as I learned after the first class, barely controlled mayhem in a room with padded floors. Oy.
At least she looks cute! (Despite the super-wonky piggies.)
Stick the landing! Stick the landing!!
Whaddaya mean I'm supposed to go down this thing? Whatevs.
Shae actually says "cheese!" on cue now. The other mothers at tumbling were envious.

According to last week's 2-year-old doctor checkup, at 34.75" tall Shae is in the 84th percentile for height for her age. Hoop dreams, here we come!

Next up: helping mama and daddy get control over the falling leaves in the back yard. Dad set up the slide to right into the pile!

I don't know why we even bother... This is the pile. This pile was created less than 3 hours after a similar pile was raked and bagged...
...and this is what's still left in the trees. Sigh.
Run, run, run!
Truly helping. Thanks, Shae!

The obligatory leaf pile jump.

Zoey is on patrol. Always.

Finally: getting ready for the Broncos game. ("Game" is a loosely-used term in this instance. Ouch.)

Posing with Pete and Mary, our friendly scarecrow couple (and Shae's current BFFs).
Imagine how great this shot would have been if her eyes had been open! Photoshop, perhaps?
The sun is entirely too bright!

Shae's first tailgate at Shae's first Broncos game.
Walking down to the stadium. Without prompt, Shae was constantly yelling (and I do mean yelling) "GO BRONCOS!!" Even those icky Raiders fans were giving her high fives for her enthusiasm. Sitting in our seats. We're just close enough to the field (and the football players, the cheerleaders, the marching band, the horse, etc.) that Shae was actually very interested in what was going on.
We just had to change our location every few minutes to stay engaged.
Family self-photo. Not exactly frame-worthy, but I love it.
Okay, the real secret of keeping Shae engaged in the game was just to ply her with food throughout her time in the stadium. But with a 59-14 *ss whupping by the opposing team, is that really such a bad thing?

Shae's burfday!

Why dillydally -- let's just get right to the presents! On the morning of Shae's birthday, we opened a couple presents from Mama and Daddy (since the party wasn't for a couple more days). Shae is an expert at wrapping paper nowadays.

Posing in her pretty dress. Quite unfortunately (for mama) the boots that we wanted to wear with the dress couldn't get on her little feet. Bummer.
Best present of the morning: a tricycle!

A noteable photo: Shae... well... is not particularly fond of her Uncle Terry (to phrase it nicely). After several days of his diligent attempts, Shae allowed him to pick her up and give her a hug! Only lasted a fleeting moment, though -- glad the camera was at the ready!
Party time! Oodles of presents for the kiddo -- we are continually blown away by the thoughtfulness and generosity of family and friends.

Bring on the cake, yo! Shae picked out the cake herself -- Mickey and Minnie were a big hit.

Cheese!

Playing with the art station she got for her birthday. Who knew that dry erase pens would lend to hours and hours of pure joy?

Shae has been a super-good dinner eater lately. Sometimes when she gets towards the end of a meal, we do play the "one more bite and you can have ____" game. Last night that blank was filled with "pudding." So we gave Shae her pudding, and then went to task with making our own dinner in the kitchen. After about 60 seconds of quiet, I turned to see the following adorable face. I don't even know how exactly it happened in such a short amount of time, but the kid does love her pudding!
Just a noteworthy outfit that's worth photographing. (Have I ever mentioned that I love having my very own life-sized Barbie doll? I know that the window of opportunity for dressing her is closing at an alarming rate, so I'm taking as much advantage of it now as I can.)
