Well... this child is apparently quite content right where she is! No real updates to report: I'm up to a whopping 2 cm dilated (woo!), still at 50% effaced and baby is at -1 station (which just means she's dropped, for those not "in the know").
I had the inducing talk with Dr. Walsh -- pros/cons and all that. In a nutshell: I'm scheduling an induction for next week (date TBD), figuring that if Betz decides to show up on her own then that's fab, and if she doesn't then we'll just help her along! I'll report more when I know more.
Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for your thoughts and words of encouragement in these last days before our daughter joins our family. Jody and I are very excited despite our (okay, MY) impatience. We know that we're on the precipice of a major life change -- something that is equal parts terrifying and exhilerating, confusing and clarifying. Any which way you look at it, the change is a'coming and we welcome (and relish) your continued support, encouragement, empathy, apathy, tears and laughter! We are very much looking forward to introducing you to -- OH! You thought I was going to tell you her name right there, didntchya!? OH SNAP!! :)

I just want you to know that I refraining from calling everyday asking the ass-in-ane question.....is she here yet????????/ I am just so
excited to meet baby Kristi......I have bought a swing/stroller/baby playpen/crib type of thing so that she can semi-reside here!!!!! although Jody tells me you have daycare zipped up. I hope to always
be considered as the alternate!!!!!! ha ha
And as far as the cake balls go, well I am headed to the kitchen to give those a try!
I am also starting to make dinners for the 2 of you after Betz comes homes. Please clue me in on anything you do not care for. I have a barb-que shredded roast beef
for you, and of course lasagana, and of course mexican. We will just have to see how Baby Betz does with the spicy!!!!!
