Silliness

Very much a nonsensical, gratuitous photoshoot -- no point or purpose; just the many faces of Shae.

Sunny Saturday (and Sunday)

Goooooorgeous weekend in Denver. What's a girl to do but spend lots of time playing in the sun!?

Sun is FUN!
Mama got back from her run (without me!) and played with me outside for a very long time:

And then I got pooped. REALLY pooped.

But I rallied and played in my jumperoo til the sun went down*. (*=down behind the house. My bedtime is 7 p.m.)
Getting ready for bathtime with daddy after a very full day of playing.
Round 2: this outside stuff is super fun!
Haaaaaaaaay!
My pal Zoey likes to play with me inside and out. Mostly because I have shade...
Peace out, y'all. Smell ya later.

Happy sevenses, Shae Lily!

Our turkey is seven months old today! Favorite things now include:
  • Sitting up on her own (she's even preventing herself from tipping over most of the time)
  • Laughing -- Shae has THE best laugh! (see below for proof)
  • Saying "dada" (actually more like "dadadadadadadadadaa")
  • Trying new foods, including carrots, squash, mango, plums and apricots
  • Going in the jogging stroller with mom on her runs
  • Zoey. Zoey's ears are VERY soft and Shae has discovered that when she holds onto them with both hands it's a lot of fun. Zoey has also discovered that when she sits in front of Shae's high chair that those little feet and toes love to do their own version of scratching-slash-massaging. It's a win-win!

Miscellaneous photos from this week. Enjoy!

Mama comes home from California...

...and the photos go wild! Let's begin.
Tupac would be so proud. Thug life 4 eva.
Chewing on anything and everything nowadays. Methinks more teeth are on their way soon!
Shae is a total champion at sitting up on her own nowadays (sometimes with the aid of the sofa behind her, but mostly without), although she does often list to the left...

I would like to introduce you to my pal, giraffe. We go way back.
The weather finally cooperated enough that we could spend some time in the back yard!

Funny photo only in its perspective -- Shae glancing sidelong at Dax as it would appear he is both very small and very hungry for a small hand.

Mom and Shae. We have so few photos together, sometimes one has to resort to a self-photo or two.

Since Dad mowed the lawn, we decided to give Shae her first shot at quality time on the grass -- feeling the blades between her tooties and all that. Clearly we have some work to do in that area.
Shae loves her some Uncle Craig!

Pretty in Pink. Literally -- that's Molly Ringwald on her shirt! (Thanks for the shirt, Auntie Suzie!)

Strawberry Hat

Horrible exposure (camera phone), but cute photos nonetheless -- I bought Shae the cutest little strawberry hat in Palm Springs and I think it suits her! More photos later today -- I forgot to download from the camera last night. Happy Monday!

Hooray, hooray! The first of May!

Six days away from home is about five too long. I'm sure Jody agrees. Shae was delighted to see me this morning -- and the feeling is entirely mutual. So I've stayed home with the little turkey today and we've had a great time playing and hugging.

Sorry for the lack of photos this week -- I accidentally brought the camera with me to Palm Springs, but it never actually made it out of my purse. Oops!

Guess who woke up from her afternoon nap screamin' like a demon? Much like mama, Shae will never be able to convincingly say "I wasn't crying" because her slotchy red face gives her away:

Oh you know, I'm just chillin' with my mom, sitting up on my own and all...

Very exciteable, Shae is.

Feets are the best toys around. Best part? There's always TWO of 'em!

Shae does love to blow raspberries. Gross? Yes, definitely. But when you manage to actually capture the spit bubbles in a photo it's somehow precious.

My happy girl. It's great to be home!
