Shae's daycare had their annual Harvest Party (Christian daycare = no "Halloween"... lame) on Friday, Oct.28. Shae, per her request, was a purple fairy princess -- heavy emphasis on the "purple." One of her classmates' parents hired a face painter to come in and decorate the children; Shae selected a butterfly to compliment her purpleness. Pretty cool!
On Saturday, Oct.29, Taylor invited Shae to go to church with her for a "trunk-or-treat." So mama tried to re-create the face butterfly. Not NEARLY as cool, but I tried my best!
Continuing the Halloween-palooza celebrations: Sunday was pumpkin carving day. Shae supervises while Jody cuts.
Bored with supervising, Shae tells a story. (Nowadays her stories all begin with "So as you can see here...")
Finished products -- from left to right: Shae's silly face, Dad's vamipre-y scary face, and Mom's albino happy face.
Finally the big night! Jody takes Shae trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. She was totally on board with the idea of knocking on someone's door, saying "trick or treat!" and then they give her CANDY. Now we face the daunting task of convincing her that schtick only works one day out of the year...
