Summer fun in the summer sun

Shae got a new slide to play with for the summer. As happens with kids, the box in which the slide was delivered was WAY more exciting then the slide itself.

The slide itself is pretty cool, too, though.

Shae's favorite summertime treat (so far) is Capri Sun. Kid **loves** her Capri Sun.
Cheeeeeeeese!
Snapping photos of some of the flowers we planted. Lovely, huh? Yeah, not a single petal of any of these flowers is still intact -- they got pummelled in the hail storms a couple weeks ago. Sigh.

Pool time! Cooling off on a very warm afternoon.

No, Daddy, you put the water here.
Okay, this slide is REALLY fun!

Back in the pool.

Taking a hike on a pretty summer day.
Gramma and Baba.
Cindy and Brett (and Dad and Mom).
Grandma B has been asking for a photo of Shae at Bob's headstone for ages. We finally had the opportunity to oblige!

Beautiful Frisco on a sunny Saturday morning

Okay, people. Let's get this show on the road!
Queen of the trail. And Elmo. And 95% of Brian -- sorry about the head chop, dude.
Taking a little rest.
Oh! What a beautiful morning... oh what a beautiful day! I've got a beautiful feeling everything's going my waaaaaaaay.
Chucking rocks into the creek. Uber-fun.

More mid-week hilarity

Jody brought the real camera with him on his fishing trip to South Dakota, so I'm stuck with poor quality Blackberry photos. They do the job, though.

A little light reading before a bath? Yes, mama. I think I will.
What's even more fun than playing with blocks? Playing with the container in which the blocks are stored! Sooooooo funny! (Even MORE funny is putting the container on mama's head!)

Reason #362 why Shae will detest me later in life

Nekkid pre-bath turkey standing atop her potty. She thought this was hiiiiiiilaaaaaarious!

Proper backyard "afters"

Summer's here and the time is right

Jody decided enough was enough and it was time to address the west side of our back yard. At one time we believe it was nicely landscaped with rock...not so much anymore. There's still some rock there, but mostly it's just weeds.
The trees are also very overgrown -- as far as trees go, anyway.
A couple rickety old planters were dug into the ground.
Solution? Mulch. Lots and lots of mulch.

We actually put flowers in the planters, as well, but I got carried away taking the "after" photos before it was fully "after." More "afters" to come.
Jody's niece, Jessi, graduated from high school and had a party to celebrate at a nearby park. Shae, ever the party animal, was more than happy to help Jessi with her celebrations.

Craig and Jody manned the grills. And I do mean MANned.
Shae's first-ever baseball game! It pained me inside to teach her to say "Go Rockies!" but it was appropriate for the venue. GO CUBS!!

Memorial Day weekend = summer. Summer = water. Shae's new splash table = lots of fun!

Memorial Day weekend also = backyard BBQs and yard games. Jody and Brian try out the new ladder ball set. (A LOT of fun, by the way!)
A momentary lull in the crying. (Shae is trying to push through four molars all at once right now. Not so fun for anyone involved.)
Shae's friend, Parker, came over to play. They thought it was big fun to sit on the stone wall together -- it's just their size!
Best of pals, right from the start.
Hugs!
