Shae's August

Shae's daycare had a luau party to celebrate the end of summer -- even though it's only the middle of August. Whatever. Anyway the party consisted of orange sherbet, pineapple tidbits and plastic leis. It was a great party indeed!
Shae and her best pal, Quinny, enjoy their snack.
Quinny enjoyed hers!
Shae thinks that everything is tastier with a spoon.
Oh... what's over thataway?
Visiting the park on a Saturday afternoon. The water park is the best!
So many kids, so little time!
Hilarious!
Run, run, RUNRUNRUNRUNRUN
Going from the water to the playground. Shae loves a good playground.

There's more fun stuff over there, mama. OVER THERE.
This place is RAD.

Now that Shae's hair can go into pigtails, that's how it's styled most days. Subsequently, she goes to sleep some nights (when we miss bathtime) with pigtails in her hair... but the pigtails never seem to make it to morning. The result is often quite comical.

Helping to make pancakes.
Snacktime!
Uncle Brian, Aunt Chris, Keeley and Taylor brought Shae a Shae-sized table and chairs from Minnesota. New favorite toy!!

Another day, another water park. Livin' the dream!

Shae had a dinner date with her friend, Parker. After dinner, we all retired to the patio to enjoy the evening air. In asking for a nice pose, they both said "CHEESE!" simultaneously. I missed it... but we tried to recreate it.
Wearing Parker's sweet kicks. I don't fundamentally approve of Crocs, but they are stinkin' cute!

Shae's summertime

It's the perfect morning for a trip to the zoo!
A little uncomfortable being so close to the mama lions. Yeah, they're sleeping... but they're RIGHT THERE!
Busy, busy, busy. Lots to see!
Just a cool photo of a giraffe. I mean who doesn't love a giraffe?
Spending some good quality time with Dad.
Getting ready for the sea lion show to start.
Hydrating during the sea lion show.
Why ride inside the wagon when you can push the wagon from behind?
Stylin' and profilin' whilst watching Elmo.

Mama. You cannot fool me. I know that these muffins have vegetables in them. Yeah, they taste okay, but I do not like vegetables in any form... and so I cannot eat this muffin. Sorry.
Showing off a new pair of kicks!
Stylish girl.
Hanging out at the farmer's market with mama. (And grandma, unpictured.)

Playing catch up...

Know what's the most delicious snack on the planet? Pudding. Seriously.
Would I fib about something like that?!
Girls day in Frisco -- breakfast, a walk around town, a chairlift at Copper Mountain. So fun!
Shae is a fantastic helper around the house. Helping to make pancakes on a Sunday morning:

What did I tell you about the pudding??

Just when I thought it wasn't possible for this kid to get any cuter (note: bias), we discovered that she has enough hair to put into double-sprout pigtails. Her cuteness just upped by a factor of 10.

Shae (and Jody) were able to join me (Jaime) in Vail for a business trip. Shae loved all the fountains in Vail Village -- she wanted to get right in and splash with the big kids!
Learning to drink from a non-sippy cup.
An after dinner snack with Uncle Kyle.
Another sculpture in Vail Village. Go Rams!
Douglas and Shae are great pals.
Jody and Kyle re-creating their fishing adventures at Lake Oaje in South Dakota. Somehow I think this actually isn't that far off the mark.
Shae's absolutely favorite thing is going down slides. Doesn't matter how big the slide is -- she thinks they're the bee's knees. She's a daredevil!

Calling Baba

Shae misses her Baba (grandpa) terribly. Every day she asks where he is; and every day I tell her "Baba is on his bicycle, honey."

Every day Shae points out Baba in the picture in our stairway.

Whenever he calls, Shae gets to talk to Baba on the phone.

This weekend in the bath, Shae pretended to call Baba herself. "Hi Baba!"
And then got pretty upset when he wasn't actually on the other end of her "phone."
