Lunch!

I had to run some errands mid-day, including a stop at Target. Not having packed my lunch this morning, I decided to browse their deli to see if they had anything that struck my fancy. Imagine my delight in finding this little pre-packaged slice of heaven! I had to physically restrain myself from going directly to the wine aisle to pick up an airplane-sized bottle of pinot grigio to accompany.
It's such a delight I just had to share!

Photos from Gramma and 6-month Update

Shae had her six-month doctor visit today and took her shots like a champ! We learned that she is weighing in at 17 lbs. 13 oz. (in the 83rd percentile for her age), stretching in at 27.5" long (96th percentile for her age!) and has a noggin that is 17.5" around (93rd percentile). So in sum: Shae is a hefty turkey! (We can say that now, but we'll curb that kind of terminology when she's old enough to have self-esteem issues. For now, the world loves a pleasantly plump baby girl!)

Shae in the big-girl bathtub! (Photo caption: "Seriously? Why would you do this to me? I know you're going to use this photo against me 13 years from now...")
What good parents Shae has -- Dad, Mom and Shae at the Sports Column. :)

Favorite new game: rolling over. Nice catch mid-roll, Gramma!

Hangin' with Gramps:

Sitting up like a champ nowadays -- Shae still needs a little bit of assistance (Gramps and/or Boppy pillow) or else she tends to list to the left, but she's working on it!

Happy halfsies, Shae Lily!

I forgot to download camera photos last night, so crappy cell phone photos will have to suffice for the moment...

Happy sixers, Shae! Today is Shae's six-month birthaversary -- woohoo! Rice cereal and strained pears on the house!

The Quest for a Tooth (Teeth!) Photo, Part I

Before we begin on our quest, we have to share the SUPER cute outfit our friends Carson, Dee and Matt gave to Shae months ago -- and now that she's not a little kid anymore, she can finally wear! Thanks, Rings!

Now the quest for the ever-elusive tooth photo. We start by smiling at Shae, hoping for a smile in return... No dice.

There it is! But the angle is wrong, the lighting is wrong and the smile isn't quite big enough to show the teeth within.

Self-photo, anyone?
Closer... Shae is much more interested in the shutter of the camera than she is in showing us her teeth.

A different angle, perhaps? "Whatchya doing up there, mama?"

Oh so close!

Well they're definitely there, but all that drool is catching the light of the flash -- drat!

Starting over. New tactics.
The teensy weensy spider went up the water spout... almost!
Head, shoulders, knees and toes... closer!
15 renditions of "this little piggy went to market" later (or, in our version, "this little piggy went to Keystone") we scored! Thems are teeth! Check 'em and weep, suckers.
Okay, so you have to look ****very**** closely and realize that the two tiny white lines in the middle of Shae's bottom gumline are the teeth to which we are referring. What were you expecting? Bugs Bunny?

Happy April!

Still trying that tummy time stuff. Still not loving it. We did manage to snap a photo before Shae started crying, though!

Sweet potato, sweet potato, boom boom boom! (That's what we sing while we're **loving** our sweet potatoes.)
Shae's two favorite things in the whole wide world: sitting upright in her chair and Dad. Yay!

The Pooh hat is precariously close to being too small. We're not giving up the dream quite yet, though!

Dressed for school. All of her teachers (and the other moms) swooned over this outfit!

More quality time in the jumperoo. Happy, happy kid!
Bad quality (camera phone), but cute photos!

Happy birthday, Zoey!

Zoey turned six yesterday -- happy birthday lil' girl!
