Apparently the new camera has quite a flash! (Note the WIDE open eyes!)

Happy 4 months, Shae Lily!
You know how I've been griping for months and months about having a crappy camera, and thus having crappy photos? Well, I finally got a new camera last weekend... but I haven't had a chance download the photos I've taken! You'll just have to trust me that they're MUCH better. I promise to do so this weekend. In the meantime, here's a couple from my phone of our big (13 lbs. 10 oz. and 25.5" long, according to yesterday's doctors visit!) four-month-old turkey:

Are you ready for some football?!
We don't have any Steelers or Cardinals gear (cuz Dad won't allow it!), and the Broncos sure aren't playing any more this season... but it's Super Bowl Sunday and Shae is ready for an afternoon of beer, cocktail weenies and football! Go team! (Thanks, Kyle and Amy, for the awesome cheerleader outfit -- it finally fits!)

A week in the life...
Saturday morning play time. "Oh hi, mom... it's you again..."
"Lookit me! I did this to myself! I'm learning how to roll over -- now if I could just get back on my tummy...?"
Thug life, Shae-style:

Bath Time!
To be added to the future list of "wrongs my mama committed against me" for her therapist, we busted out the camera during bath time this week. Embarrassing 15 years from now? Yeah. Adorable right now? You betchya!
"Okay, mom, enough already -- let's get this show on the road!"
Shae is all smiles and splashes and giggles in the bath -- although for some reason all those things are elusive once the camera comes out.

Three Months!
Shae is three months old! What does a beautiful three-month-old spend her time doing? Learning to hold her head up, practicing rolling over, playing with toys, talk talk talking away, slurping fingers, chowing down and dodging puppy kisses. WHEW!! No wonder she's learning to sleep through the night!

Sleep
When Jody and I first shared our news that we were going to have a baby, Dee and Matt -- newly experienced in the world of parenthood -- shared the following advice:
"Sleep! Get as much sleep as you can. Go to bed early. Wake up late. Take naps. When you wake up in the morning and think you're ready to get up, roll over and go back to sleep. Just sleep. Whenever you can and as much as you can. Sleep!!"
I finally get it. :)
Have a great weekend, all!

Back to Work
Work, in general, is for jerks. The jerkiness is compounded, however, when one has to leave one's beautiful 12-week-old little girl behind. Sigh. But such is life.
